1st Annual CTE Expo
On Friday, March 7, 2014, the
CSJH 8th grade class visited Carrizo Springs High School to tour the
campus and learn about the different Career and Technical Education programs.
Students listened to CTE Teachers, Ronnie Yandell, Celeste Lacy, Julia Miller,
and Thomas Marroquin talk about their programs. Students also learned how
courses in Architecture and Construction, Agriculture and Natural Resources,
Information Technology, and Law and Public Safety can prepare students to enter
their chosen career field or advance into higher education.
The 1st Annual CTE Expo is one of many new programs that
CSISD will be offering to promote College Readiness and Career and Technical
Education.

Dual Credit Parent Information
Parent meeting: March 20, 2014 6pm, CSHS Auditorium
SWTJC will be giving a parent information session on any student interested in taking Dual Credit Courses
Registration Day: March 26, 2014 CSHS 9:30am-2pm
College Advisors will be at CSJH and CSHS to register students for enrollment at SWTJC. Students will take the Pre-Assessment Activity in order to be eligible to take the TSI placement test.
Pre Assessment Activity can be accessed through SWTJC website and should be taken before April 25. This is anticipated to take at least 1 hour. Students will be asked to print a certificate of completion.
SWTCJ Dual Credit Orientation: May 14, 2014
Dual Credit Orientation will take place at the Uvalde Campus. This will be open to all students that have attended the parent meeting and registration day. This is a mandatory meeting for students to enroll in Dual Credit classes in Fall 2014.
Carrizo Springs CISD will be offering TSI Assessment Boot Camps to 8th graders Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors so that they can become eligible to take college level courses during the Fall 2014 semester.
The TSI Assessment Boot Camp will include three hours of instruction in reading, writing and math objectives found in assessment.

TESTING COST $28.00, Money Orders only. All fees will be paid by CSISD
if students attend Parent meeting, SWTJC registration day, and TSI Bootcamp.

| A student who receives an academic scholarship must enroll as a full-time student (12 semester hours or more) in order to use the academic scholarship. Students who receive the academic scholarship as entering freshmen are in effect receiving a two year scholarship for four consecutive long semesters, if they maintain "satisfactory grades."
